When someone contacts us the cause of their problem is often an unfair policy, practice or piece of legislation.
Part of our work is to collect anonymised evidence of such cases in order to campaign for change, to prevent other people experiencing the same issues. The number of clients we work with each year makes it possible to spot trends and comment with authority on the strengths and weaknesses of different policies.
We also respond to national calls for evidence from Citizens Advice Head Office on their large scale campaigns.
We hold a number of awareness raising events and media campaigns throughout each year.
Recent activities include:
- Street Stalls in Telford Shopping Centre – working to raise awareness of welfare reform
Big Energy Saving Week – stalls at local shopping centres, hospitals and council offices
- Energy Champions at the Consumer Café – helping clients identify and swap to the best tariffs
- #CABLive – twitter campaign to raise awareness of our work and the current issues facing clients
