Collabaration across Telford & the Wrekin's VCSE Community

Exciting Funding News for Telford & Wrekin

We’re thrilled to announce new funding that will strengthen collaboration and build skills across Telford & Wrekin.

Six local charities have received support from a £35,000 grant programme, funded by Telford & Wrekin Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and managed by Shropshire Community Foundation.

One of the key projects is led by Citizens Advice Telford & Wrekin, which has been awarded £7,500 to drive a collaborative commissioning initiative. This work focuses on helping larger organisations and grassroots groups work together more effectively and creating practical tools to support the voluntary and community sector.

What’s Happening?

The funding will support a range of activities designed to boost collaboration:

  • Micro Needs Analysis & Co-Production
Surveys and one-to-one sessions with grassroots organisations to understand needs and readiness for collaboration.
  • Deep Dive Analysis with Experienced VCSEs
Interviews and surveys to assess capacity for leading collaborative bids and identify thematic leads.
  • Shared VCSE Directory Specification
Designing a digital platform to match organisations, including exploring smart features for collaboration.
  • Collaborative Commissioning Workshop
Bringing stakeholders together to validate findings and co-design strategies.
  • Toolkit Development
Practical resources like templates, case studies, and guidance for collaborative commissioning.
