Citizens Advice Telford & the Wrekin

Citizens Advice Telford & Wrekin was proud to attend Armed Forces Day at Donnington on Sunday 28th June, joining partners and organisations from across the region to celebrate and recognise the contribution of our Armed Forces community.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity to connect directly with serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Throughout the day, our team spoke with attendees about the support available through Citizens Advice, offering guidance and sharing information on a wide range of issues.

A key focus of the day was promoting our newly launched Citizens Advice Forces Family Service (CAFFS). This specialist service is designed to provide dedicated, holistic support to Armed Forces families across Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire. CAFFS works alongside families who may be facing complex or challenging circumstances, including financial pressures, housing difficulties, employment concerns, and wider wellbeing needs. By offering tailored advice, advocacy, and ongoing casework, the service helps families build stability and move forward with confidence.

As part of our outreach at the event, we handed out information leaflets and spoke to many families about how CAFFS can support them. These conversations highlighted the importance of having accessible, trusted advice services specifically tailored to the Armed Forces community.

Events like Armed Forces Day are an important way for us to engage with local communities, raise awareness of the support available, and ensure that families know where to turn when they need help. We were delighted to be part of such a well-attended and positive day and look forward to continuing to build relationships with the Armed Forces community across our area.
