Citizens Advice Forces Family Support (CAFFS)

Specialist Support for Armed Forces Families

Welcome to Citizens Advice Telford and The Wrekin’s Forces Family Support Service (CAFFS)

We are proud to offer a dedicated, specialist service supporting families of wounded, injured, or sick veterans and serving personnel across Telford and Shropshire. Our mission is to address complex needs and reduce isolation, especially in the face of the cost-of-living crisis and reduced statutory services. We deliver holistic welfare, housing, and debt advocacy, advice, and casework, empowering families to thrive.

What We Offer

  • Tailored Advice & Practical Guidance: Experienced caseworkers provide confidential, holistic advice on money matters, housing, employment, legal advocacy, immigration, and relationships.
  • Multichannel Access: Support is available via phone, weekly outreach, home visits, community events, and 24/7 digital access.
  • Peer-Led Initiatives: Our Advice First Aid training empowers family members to support each other and act as informal ambassadors, encouraging early engagement with formal services.
  • Digital Support: We are developing dedicated webpage hosting tailored information, self-help resources, and a self-referral form. This will include live webchat offers confidential support during office hours.

Why Engage with CAFFS?

  • Proven Impact: Families supported by Citizens Advice see significant financial gains and improved wellbeing. Our service is trusted, confidential, and impartial.
